Hand-rolled rope incense is a fair-trade product from Nepal. It is created in small batches, handcrafted by women artisans, who perpetuate ancient techniques and practices. The batches are packed in Catherine Rise's studio in Rochester, New York.

Each batch has a unique look; no two are identical, although each fragrance is packaged in a single color. Each is wrapped in vintage thread and fabric purchased from a local non-profit organization that sells vintage and deadstock sewing and craft materials, with proceeds going back into the community, which offers sewing and textile classes, as well as job training.
